Objective HR

CASE STUDY

Building a long-term relationship with a professional
services team

Gill was recommended as the "must go to" person for web copy. She was creative in her approach; totally understood the tone that we wished to portray; and made recommendations that exceeded our initial brief and expectations. The process was simple and painless. Gill has continued to write regular updates and blogs and upload them onto our website and LinkedIn pages, leaving us free to concentrate on our core skills in the knowledge that we have this area of expertise covered. I would recommend Gill and looking forward to continuing to work with her.

Lisa Collins, MD, Objective HR.

Who is the client?

Objective HR is a well-established HR consultancy based in Essex and working mainly in the financial services, IT, accountancy, contact centre and HR sectors. The company offers a range of consultancy services including learning and development, recruitment and selection, business restructuring, M&A advice, performance management and employee referencing.

I began working with the company in 2013 when they needed a website refresh. Working alongside a website developer, I supplied all the content for the website, and have continued to write news updates every month, plus any new pages, additional content and offline copy needed.

How does the ongoing service work?

We agree topics for monthly news items in advance – this is usually a combination of highlighting new legislation or legal updates, and general advice for how employers might approach HR – anything from the minimum wage to Christmas parties. Articles are drafted and sent out for amendment or approval. For this client, I also upload the article to the website using the Wordpress content management system, and I also post articles to the company’s LinkedIn page, so that the client knows everything is taken care of.

During the COVID-19 crisis, we worked closely together on communications to offer help and support to the wider business community through LinkedIn. This was a much more responsive and on-the-move way of working and it allowed us to significantly increase engagement with posts on LinkedIn and keep the client at the front-of-mind for their most important contacts.

What makes the relationship so good?

Objective HR’s Managing Director is busy, focused and exacting. She needs someone she can rely on to understand the business, its direction and the way it changes and grows. With more than five years of working together under our belts, she knows she can leave things to me and we will work together to make sure the final words are exactly right.

Why is this useful?

A company like Objective HR needs to spend its money on specific employees that can help it carry out its main income-generating tasks. So it makes sense to outsource jobs like content writing to a trusted provider.
